7/22/2023 0 Comments Htop network usage![]() Appreciate if somebody can help me solve this problem. Is there any problem with the samba configuration? I've attached the screenshot of htop, iptraf and the ping result and also smb.conf configuration file. I have no ideas what is going on with this server. ![]() lib/util_sock.c:send_smb(7 61)Įrror writing 4 bytes to client. Write_data: write failure in writing to client 0.0.0.0. Error was Transport endpoint is not connected I've checked /var/log/samba/samba.log file and this error reoccurred many times: I've tried many way to reduce the CPU and network traffic load by killing some of the smbd process but still no good. If I started back the smb services, the CPU bar get high again, port 636 and 445 generate many traffic, ping time not smooth again and the server getting slower again. Also if I ping to this server, the time is not samba]# service smb stopĪnd then when I stopped the smb services, the CPU bar dropped almost 0% and there is no traffic generated from port 636 and ping result for time is smooth samba]# service smb start When I checked the network traffic for this server using iptraf, I've found that the top traffic coming from port 445 and 636. So I checked the domain and server and by using htop, I've found that CPU load average was high around > 22% and also 4 CPU bars at the left side are more than 90% and sometimes reached 100%. There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request." Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. You might not have permission to use this network resource. The problem is recently I received complaint from many users that they cannot access to the file server and received this error: ![]() I don't know the details of all the network and server infrastructure as the previous IT person which in-charge of these servers left and there is no proper documentation about the environment. Our company have about 1500 PC connected to this domain. Then only PC which has login to ABC domain can access to the file server. I've transferred to a new company and there was a CentOS 5.4 Linux server which used samba (smb) and acting as domain and WINS server, and there are a LDAP server and also a file server.Įveryday user need to login using their account to our domain ABC.
